My Favorite Riding Gear (Amazon Edition)

Here is my favorite tack and apparel for horseback riding, on Amazon. Bonus it is all budget-friendly!

For the Horse

As you can see I got all of the products in blue for Dixie, but there are other color options as well. The photos are not mine all credit goes to the manufacturers.

Knotty Girlz Horse Rope Training Halter. This halter is very sturdy and bright, and there are quite a few color options as well. It is made from stiff rope, so it’s great for a pushy or insensitive horse. It is under $30 for the moment. I would like to try one of their soft halters as well so I’ll update the post if I try that.

Knotty Girlz Yacht Horse Lead Rope (14 ft with a stainless steel trigger snap). This lead rope is AMAZING. It costs $45 right now. Along with the halter mentioned above, it is on the pricier side but it’s still a good bit cheaper than the trainers’ brand. If you were just going to buy one product from this list, you should get this one. The rope is super soft and sleek, and even after being used hard for three years it’s looking great. It is pretty much the only rope I use. It’s long enough to be safely used for lunging, and the end can be used as a whip as well. The rope is also short enough for use as a regular lead rope, and I’ve also used it to tow a sled.

TWG Horse Medicine Boots. These boots are great! They are under $30 right now for a pair. The boots are very well made and sturdy, and even after being abused by me for two years they are in decent condition. I got a size small and they fit Dixie perfectly. They also have lots of color options which is always nice.

Dover Saddlery Quilted All-Purpose Saddle Pad. This pad is thick and soft. It fit my saddle perfectly. It also comes in several colors and is $35 right now.

Edit: I forgot to add the deshedding tool so here it is.

Deshedding Grooming Tool. This tool makes shedding so much more efficient. It has small metal teeth that grab the loose hair. It is very easy to clean, and it’s several dollars cheaper than the name brand at $15 right now.

For the Rider

Saxon Kids Schooling Jodhpurs. These are only in kid’s size, as I haven’t tried any adult-sized breeches on Amazon yet. I got a size 14 three years ago and they still fit me well. They are quite stretchy (obviously lol), very thick and soft, and sturdy. The Jods are great for cooler days. They also have a pocket which is quite nice, although I wish it was bigger. They’re only $22 now, which is a bargain considering their high quality.

TuffRider Ladies Starter Front Zip Paddock Boots. These boots are sturdy and comfy, and also very easy to take care of cause they’re synthetic leather. They also have nice cushioning inside. They cost $35 right now.

Lift Sports Half Chaps. These chaps are cheap and sturdy, costing $30 right now. They come in four colors and the brown matched my Tuffrider boots (mentioned above) almost perfectly. They are starting to get slightly worn in places where they’ve been constantly creased, but that is expected for the price.

Harrington Marley Roller Ball Spurs. These spurs are great for refining aids on your horse. They are the gentlest kind of spurs since they are round and blunt, but still have rollers so they don’t catch and pull on the horse’s side. They are $20 right now. The spurs are flexible enough that they can be bent to fit your boots perfectly.

That’s all I have right now, I hope you found this article helpful!
